After revealing the truth to the public about wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and U.S. foreign policy worldwide, 26 year-old Army soldier Chelsea Manning suffered lengthy and excessive prosecution by the US military. As Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg declared on the last day of the trial, "Manning does not deserve prison time. [She] is one more casualty of a horrible, wrongful war.”
While we continue to support her fight for a shorter sentence through legal appeals, you can take more immediate steps to show her you're thinking of her this Valentine's Day.
1) One thing Chelsea desires deeply this year is to stay updated on current news, via daily print subscriptions to the Washington Post and the New York Times. Over the next two years these subscriptions would cost nearly $3500. Chelsea remains very interested in politics and foreign policy, yet she doesn't have access to the internet in prison, making it difficult to stay up-to-date with what's going on in the world.
Please make a gift to help cover Chelsea's newspaper subscription costs today!
2) Chelsea loves to receive mail from supporters. You can send her a Valentine's card at the following address:
In order to ensure your mail is properly routing through the prison, your envelope must be addressed exactly as follows:
BRADLEY E. MANNING 89289
1300 NORTH WAREHOUSE ROAD
FORT LEAVENWORTH, KANSAS 66027-2304

3) Consider volunteering! The Private Manning Support Network has always been a primarily volunteer-driven endeavor, and in our post-trial efforts to support Chelsea we need dedicated volunteer leaders to help out in the areas of fundraising, social media, organizing and more. Think you have what it takes? Visit our website to see our current openings.

Stand up for whistleblowers! Protest against the government's mass surveillance programs.

On February 11th join the mass protest against online surveillance:
In celebration of the win against SOPA and PIPA two years ago, and in memory of one of its leaders, Aaron Swartz, we are planning a day of protest against mass surveillance, to take place this February 11th.
Together we will push back against powers that seek to observe, collect, and analyze our every digital action. Together, we will make it clear that such behavior is not compatible with democratic governance. Together, if we persist, we will win this fight.
